ABOUT &RUNNING COACHING

We are a group of professional coaches who specialize in beginner and intermediate runners.

We believe that your relationship with running is personal, and your journey is your own.

Our coaching philosophy is rooted in our relationship with you, and grounded in the education and experience we have gained in coaching hundreds of runners over many years of experience.

As your coaches, we are here to support and guide you to your fitness and running goals while balancing the demands of the rest of your life.

We will encourage you to set big, bold goals and to embrace the support of the wonderful running community along the way.

FREQUENTY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BEGIN THE PROGRAM?

A: We ask that you be able to comfortably run 5 miles at an easy, conversational pace by the first weekend of the program in April 2024. 

Q: WHAT PACE GROUPS WILL YOU HAVE AVAILABLE?

A: We will have options of "long run" pace groups ranging from 12:30 minutes/mile to 8:30 minutes/mile and everywhere in between.

Q: I'VE NEVER RUN 10 MILES BEFORE. IS THIS PROGRAM RIGHT FOR ME?

A: Yes, we usually have many people in our training groups who are attempting the distance for the first time, you will be in good company!

Q: HOW DO YOU CREATE CUSTOM TRAINING CALENDARS FOR EACH PERSON?

A: This is one of the biggest differences in our programs versus others. We believe that everyone deserves a personalized training calendar that will fit to your individual goals and schedule.
We will ask you to complete an intake survey which will give our coaches information about where you are at the beginning of the program to help us create your calendar. We ask things like days you like to run, other activities you do during the week, schedule conflicts, etc. The coaches are always available to you for Q+A via our group platform and email if you need adjustments or hit a snag in your training.

Q: WILL YOU WRITE SPEED AND STRENGTH WORKOUTS INTO MY CALENDAR?

A: If you are local and participating in the in-person program, we will include &Fitness studio credits to compliment your training schedule and provide you speed and strength workouts. If you are participating in our virtual program, we will give you access to our On Demand platform, which includes audio-guided speed workouts just like our in-studio classes.
If you feel like you need specifically designed track workouts, send us an email before registering and we will let you know if we can accomodate you.

Q: WHICH DAYS WILL LONG RUNS BE? WHICH DAYS WILL THE COACH CALLS BE?

A: Weekly group long runs will take place on Sunday mornings from the &Fitness studio in Fulton in Howard County. We expect the group calls to take place on Wednesday evenings. We open Q+A before our calls so you can submit your questions ahead of time, and they are recorded if you miss them.

Q: HOW DOES RACE DAY WORK?

A: We will dedicate an entire group call to talk about race prep and logistics, so you will be well prepared! The day of the race, we will meet as a group for a warm up and pep talk (and lots of pics!). Then we will head to the start together. You will run at your pace or with friends you have at your pace, and we will see you at the finish line! 
When everyone is finished, we meet at the &Running after-party tent for hydration and celebrations, and then head to brunch together to congratulate ourselves and our group on a great training cycle.

Q: IS RACE REGISTRATION INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM FEES?

A: No, you'll need to register for the race on your own. When you register, be sure to sign up for the &Running Social Team (team name: &Running ; password: Level4). If you're already registered and want to join our social team, email the race directors and request to be added and they'll take care of it for you.
*Because of the size of our team, we will each receive $10 off our registration, and that's great news!

Q: I'M INTERESTED BUT CANNOT MAKE THE DATE OF THE GROUP RUNS / RACE DAY / ETC. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
